Life's strange curve-balls
For quite some time I have needed to lose 20-30 pounds of flat-out fat! A year and a half ago, I hired a personal trainer which helped, but I refused to modify my eating. I realized about 2 weeks ago how awful I felt; it was time to change ... and also realized that what has kept me at the gym for 17 years is accountability to others (I am "expected" at the gym ...if I'm not there, I am missed ... {sigh}) .. and so, I joined WeightWatchers. Haven't shared this with too many folks yet, but it's amazing what has transpired since then. The trainer lectured me about eating habits, not knowing I was already doing what she was telling me (she had basically given up on me 2 years ago). Thought ... she won't believe me anyway, so why bother? Then, I tripped and fell on my butt and my mother, who was right behind me, says "luckily you have my padding" ACK! Finally, a friend commented on the size of my chest ... (hey it's fat)! We'll see what she thinks in about 4 months. All of this stuff is further inspiration to me. Think I'll keep it a secret, and see what else comes my way! When I weighed in at the end of my first week, I had lost 4 lbs.
